Privacy policy

Bokeh TV is a Windows app that plays movies, series and live TV from a provider you add yourself. This policy explains what we store about you, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Bokeh TV is made by Cor Ten Labs, a brand of OBERG INVEST AS (organisation number 934 178 068), Vekta 19, 2165 Hvam, Norway. OBERG INVEST AS is responsible for your data. Contact us at hello@bokeh.tv.

What we store

• Your email address, to sign you in. We send a one-time code to it and store only a scrambled form of that code.
• What you do in the app: favorite channels, the series and channels you follow, recently watched channels, where you stopped in a film or episode, your audio and subtitle choices and your category settings. This lets the app remember them and keep them in step on your PCs.
• A fingerprint of your provider: a one-way code made from your provider's address and your username there, so your settings stay separate for each provider. We never store the address or the username itself.
• Technical logs: when the app talks to our server, the server records the request, the time and your IP address, to keep the service running and to stop abuse.

What we don't store

• Your provider login and playlist address. They stay on your PC.
• The streams you watch. Video goes straight from your provider to your PC and never passes through us.
• Anything for advertising. There are no ads, no tracking across other apps or sites, and we never sell your data.

Why we're allowed to

We use your email and app data because you need them for the service you signed up for (GDPR article 6(1)(b)). We keep technical logs because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure, working service (article 6(1)(f)).

Who else handles it

• Microsoft Azure hosts our server and database in Sweden, sends the sign-in emails and keeps the technical logs.
• TMDB (The Movie Database, in the United States) supplies posters and details. Our server asks TMDB for a film or series by its title, without anything about you. Posters and pictures load straight from TMDB's image servers, which see your IP address the way any website you visit does.

Everything we store stays in the EU/EEA.

How long we keep it

Your account and app data are kept until you delete your account. Technical logs are deleted after 30 days.

Your rights

You can see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how we use it. Delete your account at any time in the app under Settings; this removes your email and all your app data from our server straight away. For anything else, email hello@bokeh.tv. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian data protection authority, at datatilsynet.no.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters for you, we'll tell you in the app.
